Jeric Mison - keyboardist; musical director-arranger
Former Diamond Records artist (of Maricel Soriano); continuously involved in music projects under Universal Records; sessioned / played for commercial artists such as Karylle Padilla, etc.; has been playing for the Lord with Fr. Theo Rustia and with various religious communities for many years and with Alvin Barcelona for more than 2 years
Vic Yamzon - drummer
Former session drummer for Freddie Aguilar’s Watawat Band, Article Six, Mitch Valdez, Kyla, Kitchie Nadal, etc.; has been with Alvin Barcelona since Alvin’s Freddie Aguilar days
MacDonald Pariñas - lead guitarist
Commercial band musician; has sessioned for commercial artists such as Pinoytubo; “Musiklaban” Battle of the Bands placer
Richie Dagaas - vocals
Has been a singer to religious communities for many years; training under Alvin Barcelona for more than 2 years now
Himaya takes pride in its wide pool of talented musicians which include Ron Enriquez (drums) - an original Himaya member since its founding in 1997 and who is now based in Milan, Italy, Angel Marcelo (lead guitar) – a pioneer member who actively joins Himaya if he is not abroad as a professional musician, Gener Sullera (acoustic guitar) – another Himaya original, John Morales (lead guitar) – of the Light of Jesus band, Gilbert Esguerra (percussions), Wowie (sax), pioneer members-vocalists - Aris Rasing (one of Alvin’s spiritual advisers), Ely Nakagami (Alvin’s co-Divine Mercy propagator), Fely Adriano (now based in Sydney, Australia), and a host of gifted artists ready to use their talents for God’s glory!
As a band for Alvin Barcelona, Himaya has continuously performed in prominent music bars and concert venues: Party Central, Center for Arts, Breakfast Club, etc.; in big concert venues: Meralco Theater, Teatro Aguinaldo, ULTRA, etc.; in cities and schools nationwide: Manila, Makati, Cavite, Angeles, Cabanatuan, Baguio, Tuguegarao, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Ozamis, Dipolog, Davao, Tagum, Zamboanga, etc.
As appeared in the KERYGMA Magazine July 2006 issue, Himaya “hooks” its audience by the thousands thru its carefully blended repertoire and wide range of music as appropriate to the audience, event or purpose. Thus Himaya plays music from revivals to rock and roll, from classic folk to contemporary rock, from well loved standards to pop jazz, from immortal love songs to dance and party music, from Tagalog classics to current OPM hits, and from popular Praise and Worship music to original inspirational songs.
Himaya is currently promoting the “PRAY” album of Alvin Barcelona via concert tours nationwide along with its commercial-secular album, “PeaceBol”.
